Cede’s pic is a winner
Sabah-based professional photographer and conservationist, Cede Prudente, recently picked up top honours at the 2007 Wildlife Asia Film Festival. His photograph simply titled Orang Utan Swinging was judged the Best Stills Picture.
Wildlife photography is incredibly challenging and demands tremendous patience and resolve. Hours can be spent in inhospitable places to get that perfect image and Cede has undoubtedly suffered for his art! But in doing so, he has become synonymous with capturing the enigmatic species of the Borneo rainforest, particularly the amazing wildlife found along the Kinabatangan River in Sabah’s northeast.
Cede was chosen as the principal photographer for the book, Wild Borneo, and for a number of other books including in Proboscis Monkeys of Borneo, Sabah Colour Guide: Kinabatangan published by Natural History Publications as well as The National Parks and other Wild Places of Malaysia and is currently working on a new book, Orangutan, for the same publisher.
Cede Prudente is the founder of North Borneo Safaris, offering a range of services including still photography, skills and services for film shoots, and photoguiding for special interest groups. In addition, he conducts photosafari trips in Parks and Wildlife Reserves in Sabah.
