In the past few weeks, a number of residents and visiting family members have sought clarification on various issues pertaining to the establishment of security barricades in the Section Five area. Your participation and interest in this process is much appreciated and has helped somewhat to refine proposals to improve the execution of this project. Bukit Gasing is one of the last remaining green lungs in PJ and as one of the few places that urban dwellers can be refreshed by nature it is frequented by people seeking recreation both from within and outside the Section 5 area.
The Bukit Gasing forest was until 50 years ago a rubber plantation. Since tapping ceased the hill has slowly reverted to secondary forest and although there are still a number of rubber trees many new plants and trees have grown from seeds carried on the wind or dropped by birds.
